A day in Naples.
A free, curated Naples travel guide and map, the best pizza, the must-see sights, and a one-day walking route through Napoli.
Naples is loud, vivid, and unapologetic. The pizza was invented here; the espresso is the strongest in Italy; the centro storico is a UNESCO site that still feels lived-in rather than curated. Spend a day, eat constantly, ignore anyone who tells you it's dangerous.
Hour by hour.

Tips before you go.
- Naples has a reputation for petty crime, keep wallets in front pockets, don't flash phones in busy streets. But it's nowhere near as dangerous as foreign travel forums suggest.
- Pompeii and Herculaneum are 30 minutes away on the Circumvesuviana train. Plan a half-day each.
- True Neapolitan pizza is wet in the middle, eat with knife and fork until cool enough to fold.
